Globetrotter-XL Standalone

Some people asked for a standalone version of Globetrotter to download. So I created 3 versions:

I do not give warranty that it works at all. Make sure you have the latest Flash plugin installed. If you want to share the Files please do not spread the links to my server... instead download and send around. I might delete the files again soon.

    this is one of the best games I have played for a long time…GMail wouldn’t let me share the file…I’ll burn copies to send to my old High School and family members but forgive me please from sharing this link with just one friend.

    G’day,
    Fantastic fantastic game.

    I work part-time at a primary school, and the senior classes have been having a brilliant time with the kids version of this game on their interactive whiteboards… thanks so much for making it available in a filter friendly way. (No Kong @school!)

    I live in Australia, and would be really keen to use your engine to create a local Australian version of this. Is there any way I could do the data collection and input of locations for you to plug it straight into your engine?

    Second thought - if you can do a localised version, is there any way to do an area instead of a precise city. Ie - where’s the great barrier reef? Where’s the state of Victoria, Wheres the Indian ocean?
    I know - very basic geography compared to G-XL, but great for 8 year-olds.

    Hi Luke,
    Actually I am working on version 2 of Globetrotter and hope to release it soon.
    In the new version you’ll be able to zoom certain regions of the world.. Australia included.
    Second… it is not planned yet to click on certain regions but the idea definitely is fun. I’ll see what I can do.
    If you registered at games.dschini.org I will inform you by email when the new game is released.

    Hey Manfred, thanks for your quick response.
    Zooming in on a specific region would be awesome if that means the quiz is only on that region. I know it’ll get used in thousands of classrooms if that’s the case. Once again - love your work, look forward to Globetrotter 3D.

    Es un juego fantástico. Permite que toda la familia juegue unida. además creo que es más que un juego, es una herramienta didáctica muy poderosa. Ayuda a grandes y pequeños a darse cuenta que el mundo no acaba en los límites de la ciudad o del país en el que uno vive. Felicitaciones Manfred y adelante con innovaciones para el juego.

    Author - BRAVO.
    Great for learning geography with fun. Look forward new versions - more megalopolises, avoid repetition of the same places (or close) in one game, give explanation of point system.
    Ready to help with translation into Russian.
