Welcome to Living Tags! Yes they are alive! They even can dance, sing, code and much more! :) Have a look at the following example and decide yourself if you want to add this to your blog.

Living Tags works with Ultimate tag Warrior and Jerome's Keywords


Ultimate Tag Warrior

  • download and install Ultimate Tag Warrior Plugin
  • copy the file "wp-livingtags-utw.php" into the document root of your wordpress installation
  • change Living Tags SWF Object Tag to "tagsXML=/wp-livingtags-utw.php" in both param and object version


    Jerome's Keywords

  • download and install Jerome's Keywords Plugin
  • copy the file "wp-livingtags-jk.php" into the document root of your wordpress installation
  • change Living Tags SWF Object Tag to "tagsXML=/wp-livingtags-jk.php" in both param and object version

    You can complete customize your living tags. You can change all the colors, the width, the height, the font, the speed, the friction and you can even let certain tags connect to each other.

      Hello Oliver,
      I added UTW Support now. Just download the new zip file and see README. There is a new file with the name wp-livingtags-utw.php which should go into the root folder of Wordpress installation. Then you have to edit Living Tags SWF Object Tag tagsXML=/wp-livingtags-utw.php in both param and object version.

      Mandred - could you explain how and where to put each file a little better. I’m still slightly confused as to what goes in the ‘root’ vs. plugin directory.

      ok here is my folder structure, but you can ofcourse modifiy it like you want
      - ~/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/lush/livingtags.swf
      ~/public_html/wordpress/wp-livingtags-utw.php

      I hope that helps.

      I got so confused. How about the “livingtags.xml” and “wp-livingtags-jk.php” documents?

      Could you please explain clearly how to put each document ?

      I uploaded the two files to the advised folders.

      However I cant seem to find Living Tags SWF Object Tag.

      And what do you mean by ‘edit in param and object version’?

      And dont we have to put some file in the plugins folder?

      Could you please explain?

      It does not matter where you upload “livingtags.xml” and “wp-livingtags-jk.php”, as long as they are accessible through the browser.



      So I put the livingtags.swf and the wp-livingtags-utw.php into the following folder:

      ~/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/lush/livingtags.swf

      ~/public_html/wordpress/wp-livingtags-utw.php



      Then edit your template and add the flash object-tag. If you dont know how to do that, take a look at the source code of this page.


      Modify the SWF-Object Tag to display the flash movie.



      Please look at the “tagsXML” attribute in both cases. The object version and the embed version.
      tagsXML=/wp-livingtags-utw.php

      This should point to the dataSource file (either wp-livingtags-utw.php or wp-livingtags-jk.php)



      The same for the swf file:
      src=”/wp-content/themes/lush/livingtags.swf”

      I hope this helps.

      hi. so cool this plugin is! but it doesn’t work on my wordpress! i use UTW, so uploaded files on my root. plz see http://meiclamo.net/livingtags.html . when i delete livingtags.xml file, no tag on flash appears. so i guess flash loads the xml file without any problem. but how can i regenerate the xml file for my tags? when i excute wp-livingtags-utw.php, nothing happens, and the xml file is not changed.

      but i think the number of total tags displayed should be limitted! i use more than 100 tags! could you add an option to liimit it when you release a next version?

      looks like a great program….but cannot get it work. I thought I did it all. I put the files in the right folders (swf to the theme the phps in the root) I copied the source of this page changing the phps to the correct name UTW. and ….well the flash file never loads.

      Any suggestions?
